Grayhawk, June 6, 6 p.m.

$5.00Price
  • Grayhawk has been playing classic rock and blues in the Twin Cities for almost 20 years, or something. The band members can't remember all the places they've appeared. They play a lot of Doors, Animals, Clapton, and Van Morrison along with Allman Brothers, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Beatles, Springsteen and Steely Dan. People tend to order another round of drinks when these guys are playing.

Grayhawk's five band members are all basically the same, yet different in their own way. Brad "Brad" Iverson sings and can't seem to take off his sunglasses. Scott "Scott" Bolin has experience in advertising so he's always working on his brand. The artist formerly known as Gary has multiple drum sets in various locations so he doesn't have to haul around one set. Mike "Mike" Riddle has been known to play bass with a vengeance, and the guitarist Mark can't read so this sentence can end here. Paul, Jack and Charlie might sit in occasionally. Being from Minnesota, they at one time thought about calling the band N.W.A. (Norwegians With Attitude), but discovered that another group was already using those initials. Wrong Direction was also a band name under consideration, but everyone forgot to think about it.

Past venues: Bayside, Bunker's, Narrows, BrewWorks, Depot...

Future venues: Madison Square Garden, Hollywood Bowl, the Kremlin, and maybe somewhere in St. Paul because the last time the band played there they got lost.
